💭 Why use Vegan Mayonnaise & Yoghurt
They both bring something different to the party and work well together.
| Vegan mayonnaise | Vegan yoghurt |
|---|---|
| Rich and creamy | Adds a fresh tang |
| Thickens the dip | Lightens the texture |
| Helps the dip to cling to whatever you dunk | Balances out the richness of the mayonnaise |

🍋 Always use Fresh Lemon Juice
It's tempting to keep a bottle of concentrated lemon juice in the cupboard to add to dishes, but fresh lemon juice is far superior and gives a better flavour every time.
- Brighter taste
- No artificial metalic aftertaste
- Adds a fresh aroma
- Balances out the creamy ingredients

💭 FAQs
If your yoghurt isn't thick, then the dip will be thinner, but you can thicken it by adding more mayo.
If your dip is too thick you can thin it with a little plant-milk or for the texture of a salad dressing add some olive oil and whisk.
You may have used a small lemon or one that isn't very juicy. Either add more lemon juice or some lemon zest to increase the lemon flavour.
It probably needs for lemon and more seasoning.

📖 Recipe

Vegan Lemon & Chive Dip for Chips
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoon vegan mayo
- 2 tablespoon vegan plain or greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- a small handful of fresh chives
- a good grinding of salt and pepper
Instructions
- Chop the chives finely.
- Add all the ingredients to a small bowl or jug and
mix well. - Taste to check the seasoning.
- Serve with chips and enjoy!
Notes
- Don't add any zest to this dip, it will look pretty but it will overpower
all the other flavours. - You can actually substitute fresh chives with dried in this dish, as long as you make the dip ahead and leave it in the fridge for a while. Half a teaspoon of dried chives will be enough.
- You can make a bigger batch of this dip, by doubling or tripling the recipe.
- This dip can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days.
- This dip is not great frozen and can become watery, so I don't recommend freezing it.
